Hidden threat of greenhouse facility itself

Sometimes when people install or maintain a greenhouse framework, they use iron wire to fix bamboo poles and steel wires together. Although the connection is facing down, the remaining wire heads may be inclined upward after the bundling. If the wire is used too long, it is possible to puncture the greenhouse film and cause film crack. Besides there may be similar problem with the steel bars in the columns. Especially for old greenhouse with a few years of age, the surface of the columns may get very rough, and the steel bars on the tops of the columns are all exposed. If these steel bars are not flattened in time, the greenhouse film may get scratched easily when placing insulation grass or curtain cloth. This scratch or tiny wounds are hard to find, while in case of strong wind, wounds on the greenhouse film would be expanded, finally large area of rupture will occur.

Five aspects need be emphasized to protect greenhouse

1. Full consideration should be given to wind protection when constructing greenhouses

Purchase greenhouse and equipment from professional greenhouse company. The construction of a greenhouse with strong wind resistance performance should be carried out by professional and technical personnels. The wind resistance of the greenhouse is positively related to the stability of the greenhouse. The stability of the greenhouse is related to the building quality, frame material, radian of the greenhouse, and span of the greenhouse. Try to build the greenhouse near wind barrier or spot where the wind may flow over while ensuring the lighting.

2. Increase awareness of wind resistance

Pay attention to the meteorological forecast related to strong winds, so as to prevent in advance. Evaluate the windproof capacity of the greenhouse, especially in windy weather, it is necessary to estimate frequently in order to take appropriate windproof measures. Check the condition of greenhouses frequently. Repair with the film patch tape or replace the damaged greenhouse film, vents, and doors in a timely manner especially in windy weather.  

3. Enhance the stability of greenhouses

Replace the broken film fasten line, and the damaged greenhouse frame in time. Fasten the loose greenhouse film and strengthen the basem or cover more soil around the greenhouse. Bury the ground anchor deeply, fix the greenhouse film raised by the wind in time, firmly attached to the frame of the greenhouse.

4. Keep eye on key area

Middle skeleton of greenhouse:the stability of this part is slightly worse because the density of the supporting points is less than that of the gable of the greenhouse. The gable of the greenhouse: the wind speed at the gable wall is higher than other parts of the greenhouse, and the greenhouse film is easily lifted by the strong wind. The ventilation of the greenhouse: because the film is often rolled up and down, the film may get loose and not air tight.

5. Weaken the wind compact on the greenhouse

Construct permanent or temporary wind barrier to shelter your greenhouse. The wind barrier must be strong to prevent the wind from blowing down the wind barrier and crushing the greenhouse.
